Pets must be vaccinated against Rabies, Distemper, and Parvovirus. Upon request, pet owners must provide proof of vaccination and current veterinarian information to the assigned groomer. In exceptional cases, the assigned groomer's judgment will be respected.
In-Home Grooming: The groomer performs the full service inside your home using your space (like a bathroom or laundry room).
Mobile Van Grooming: The groomer arrives in a fully equipped grooming van and services your pet outside, right at your doorstep.
Groomit offers grooming services for both dogs and cats.
Yes, but only if they are vaccinated for rabies. Unvaccinated puppies or kittens cannot be serviced for safety reasons.
Yes, but grooming may be more sensitive for elderly pets or those with health issues. If the groomer or Groomit believes veterinary care is necessary during the appointment, we will contact you first. You'll be responsible for any veterinary-related expenses. We follow specific safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of your pet and the groomer.
At Groomit, your pet's safety is our top priority. While our groomers use extreme care and professionalism, minor incidents such as small nicks, cuts, or scratches can occasionally occur—especially with anxious or active pets. Please rest assured, Groomit is fully insured. In the rare event that something does happen, we are here to support you.
Please inform the groomer before the appointment. If fleas or ticks are found, the groomer will recommend adding the Flea & Tick Treatment service. We also advise testing for Lyme disease if ticks are detected.
No. Nail trimming is included as part of all our grooming packages. You must select one of our packages to book the service.
We use natural, pet-safe grooming products, including organic and hypoallergenic shampoo options. If your pet has special skin needs or sensitivities, you can discuss shampoo preferences directly with your groomer at the time of service.
Our flea & tick treatment helps manage mild infestations and offers preventative protection. However, severe infestations may require multiple treatments and follow-up care. If fleas are found, we strongly recommend a veterinary checkup for further guidance.
De-matting is a complex, time-consuming, and delicate process. It requires special care to avoid injury, as mats often form close to the skin and can cause significant pain or irritation. De-matting also wears down grooming tools, which may need to be replaced after the session. This service is priced accordingly to cover extra time, labor, and equipment maintenance.
A pet is considered matted when fur forms tight tangles or knots close to the skin. This can cause discomfort, limit mobility, and lead to infections, skin irritations, or hidden parasites. If your pet hasn't been brushed regularly, they may already have mild to severe matting.
In cases of severe matting, shaving is the safest and least painful solution. Even if the groomer doesn't attempt to de-mat manually, shaving close to the skin still requires extra caution, time, and care to avoid injury. This process may also expose skin conditions hidden beneath the matted coat.
Yes, but with important conditions. If your pet has a history of biting or aggressive behavior, you must inform Groomit and the assigned groomer in advance. A muzzle may be used during the grooming session if necessary. Groomit reserves the right to refuse or stop service for aggressive pets and may apply an aggressive pet fee in addition to regular charges. In compliance with local laws, bites may be reported to local authorities.
A "special handling pet" is one that requires extra time, care, or additional staff support due to behavioral challenges during grooming. This includes pets that growl, hiss, bite, resist handling, or react to grooming tools in a way that could result in injury to the groomer or themselves. In extreme cases, these pets may fall under Groomit's Non-Groomable Policy and services may not be completed for their safety.
You'll be charged at the time of booking. All selected packages and add-ons are processed securely once your appointment is confirmed.
You can leave a tip through the Groomit app or website under "My Appointments" after your service is completed. Prefer cash? That's accepted too and always appreciated!
Credit card verification helps protect against fraud and ensures your payment method is secure. A temporary charge may appear on your card for verification purposes. You'll need to enter the exact amount shown on your statement to complete the verification. This amount will be automatically voided within 24 hours — no funds will be taken from your account.
For your safety and convenience, Groomit does not accept cash or checks for service payments. All payments must be made securely through the Groomit app or website. However, you're welcome to tip your groomer through the app or in cash after the service.
After your appointment is completed, you can leave a tip in one of two ways:

Yes, all Groomit services are covered by Premium Insurance for both groomers and pets.
How can I reschedule my appointment?
On the app or website, go to "My Appointments" > "Upcoming", then tap "Reschedule" to select a new date and time.
Are there any rescheduling fees?
To view more about rescheduling and cancellation fees:
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to keep our policy fair for both customers and groomers. When you book a grooming session, our groomers reserve that time slot exclusively for you, meaning they cannot accept other appointments.
If a cancellation occurs too close to the appointment time, the groomer may lose income and have difficulty filling that slot. Once the groomer is on the way or has arrived, they have already invested time, gas, and effort, which is why cancellation and rescheduling fees are structured accordingly.

We recommend grooming your pet every 6 to 8 weeks. However, no one knows your pet as you do! Choose the grooming schedule that suits your pet to keep them happy and healthy.
You can do this by proactively taking care of your pet's coat, always giving them a good brush before they end up in a matted condition.
Keep in mind that every breed of cat or dog needs varying amounts of grooming to keep them maintained. For example, a Poodle will require much more daily work than a short-haired Pug.
We at Groomit are here to help you keep on top of grooming. Having them regularly looked at by a professional can be a great way of keeping them looking great and helping them stay healthy.
